Welcome to FloorView AI ("FloorView AI Studio," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application FloorView AI: Floor Visualizer & Cost Studio (Google Play Package ID: com.floorviewai.app) and our website located at https://floorviewai.com (collectively, the "Services").

This policy is specifically structured to comply with Google Play Console User Data Policies, the Google Play Data Safety framework, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

2. Permissions We Request & Why (Camera & Photos)

To provide photorealistic AI floor visualization in your own room, the FloorView AI Android application requests the following device permissions only when you actively initiate a room scan or photo upload:

  • Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA): Required only when you tap "Take Room Photo" or "Scan Room" inside the app so you can capture a photo of your existing floor. We never access your camera in the background.
  • Photo & Media Library Access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / Photo Picker): Required only when you select an existing room photo from your device gallery to preview flooring materials, or when you save a rendered Before/After comparison image to your device.
  • Internet & Network Access (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to transmit your selected room image and chosen flooring material to our secure AI rendering endpoint over encrypted HTTPS (TLS 1.3) and return the rendered visualization.

3. How Room Photos & AI Visualizations Are Processed

When you select or capture a room photo in the FloorView AI mobile app:

  1. Your image is securely transmitted via HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption to our cloud inference API powered by Google Cloud / Vertex AI Gemini Vision.
  2. The AI model segments the floor area while preserving your existing furniture, walls, and natural lighting shadows, and renders your chosen flooring material.
  3. Ephemeral / Transient Processing: Room photos submitted for visualization are processed in memory to generate your floor preview. We do not sell your room photos, do not publish your private home photos publicly, and do not use your personal photos to build advertising profiles.
  4. Local On-Device Storage: Your saved room visualizations, favorite flooring swatches, and square-footage cost calculations are stored locally on your device using secure local storage (AsyncStorage) so you remain in full control of your projects.

We collect minimal technical telemetry necessary to maintain app stability, prevent abuse, and improve rendering performance:

  • Device & App Diagnostics: App version, Android OS version, device model (for responsive UI scaling), and crash logs.
  • Anonymous Usage Telemetry: Non-identifiable interaction metrics (such as which flooring categories or studio color themes—Forest, Ocean, Clay, Royal—are most popular).

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

FloorView AI is a home improvement and interior design tool intended for general audiences and homeowners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area).
